Thank you to everyone that shopped online through our site.  I would also like to mention that three people in particular stand out among the rest as being very consistent fundraisers for their respective groups, and deserve a special thank you:

Teryl Burris - El Capitan Band Parents Group
Dana Ford - Santana Royal Regiment Parents Club
Heather Patterson - Mt. Airy Girls Softball

These three have been the biggest part of the fundraising success of their groups.  If you know them, please say thank you to them for helping your group!  Since they've all consistently made many purchases (more than anyone else), they can probably also give you good shopping tips!

On a different note, this month marks the first time that we've paid out referral commissions since we announced it a couple of months ago!  El Capitan Band's earnings this month were 100% referral commissions. While it was only $1.64 this month, they didn't need to do anything to earn it!

How did they get the referral commission in the first place? One parent at El Capitan Band talked to another parent at Santana and let them know about our program, and because of that quick conversation (and Santana partnering with us of course), El Capitan Band will now continue to benefit month after month from Santana's purchases.

Seriously, it doesn't get any easier than that!  So if your group is not earning enough money with your own purchases (or lack of them), you can still earn from others purchases!  I'm pretty sure that many of you know other parents involved in other groups, or are involved in other groups yourself, so what are you waiting for? It's totally to your benefit to get another group to sign up with us!

So now that we've covered referring a new fundraising partner to help your own group, let me also remind you that how successful you are with our fundraising program is totally up to you.  We're sharing the majority of the commission with you already, so all you need to do is get more people to shop online for what they need to buy anyway, and also target the higher paying commission merchants if possible.

Two examples of higher paying commissions are 123Inkjets (currently 28% commission) and  Hearst Ranch Beef (currently 25% commission, plus awesome California grass-fed beef by the way!).  We purchase our laser toner from 123Inkjets regularly, and we've also purchased flat-iron steaks, rib-eye steaks and beef jerky from Hearst Ranch, and we're definitely going to keep buying from them because it's the best.

Anyway, the point is that making a purchase from a merchant that pays 25% or more will add to your bottom line very quickly.  With the 123Inkjets coupons and Hearst Ranch Beef coupons, we actually saved money overall compared to shopping locally, even when buying excellent quality beef online and having it shipped Fedex!

Real Estate Referral = BIG DONATION
Do you know anyone that needs to sell their home? As you already know, Amy will make a nice donation to your group of 5% of her net commission at close of escrow when you refer someone to her that needs to buy or sell their home.

To help encourage more home selling referrals, Amy will also now be giving the person you refer a 5% rebate of Amy's net commission when selling their home, payable at the close of escrow.  That is in addition to the 5% donation that you get for referring them - Awesome!

This offer is good ANYWHERE in the U.S.!  If the person you're referring is not in San Diego, Amy can still refer them to a qualified Realtor® in their area.  Amy will then receive a referral fee (usually a percentage) at the close of escrow, which will then be shared with your group and the person you're referring.  If you have any questions, please contact Amy and she will be happy to answer any questions that you might have.  Trust me, I see first hand how Amy works every day (literally every day, 7 days a week), and she is REALLY GOOD at what she does.  The person you refer will be very happy with Amy's quality of service.

January Drawing Winner
Congratulations to Dana Ford of Santana Royal Regiment Parents Club, winner of the Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 Double Feature in our January Drawing. Enjoy these great Disney Classics Dana!

What's new this month?
We have a new drawing for February. This month there are FIVE Disney animated DVD's, and only two winners.  Will you be one of them? [click here for more details]

Local Fundraiser Reminder
Do you have local fundraiser events?  If so, please email us as far in advance as possible with information about the event so we can publish it on our site.  Not only will it help with publicity for your local event, but it will also tell people that there is an additional way to help fundraise for your group through MyShoppingTown.com!

As I always say, we're here to help fundraise for your group.  It's true that MyShoppingTown.com is just an additional fundraiser for your group, but the best part is that unlike most other fundraising methods, there's NO LIMIT to how much you can earn from our site!  It's all up to you to motivate and remind your supporters to visit MyShoppingTown.com before shopping online for every day purchases.

Add to that the earnings potential you have when referring other non-profit groups to fundraise with us, and the HUGE potential of Real Estate referral donations, and you can all be very successful at fundraising through our site!

Thanks for reading this newsletter, and for being a part of our fundraising community!  Your success is our success too, so let us know if you have any questions or ideas as well.
